Elbow Falls, Dungeon Twister

After a hectic few weeks culminating with my sister’s wedding, I decided some downtime was in order. Along with a friend of mine, I went to Elbow Falls for a relaxing walk last Saturday.

The weather was perfect, and we get there early enough that it wasn’t too busy. I managed to get a few good photos of things, and overall had a nice relaxing day.

Sunday was also very relaxing. Jason came over and we gave Dungeon Twister another go, this time with the Forces of Darkness expansion. I’m still not quite sure what to make of the game. Overall, I thought the expansion was good, though the new characters will take a bit of getting used to. A consolidated reference for the base game and all expansions would be nice. I took a quick glance over the geek, and nothing came up, but I didn’t look that hard. The darkness mechanic was certainly interesting, though it does add a bit more chaos to the game. More plays are definitely in order.

Back to Kelowna

For the second year in a row, I spent the August long weekend in Kelowna, BC visiting friends. And for the second year in a row, the weather was good, the water was warm, and there was way too much food.

This year seemed a bit more laid back than last year, but I still had a great time, and Sunday was pretty high-activity for me. Probably the highlight for me was getting out on the lake in a kayak again, even though it was only for a short while. I also met some new people who live only four blocks away from me in Calgary (small world).

Now all I have to do is catch up on my sleep before this coming weekend…
